NIGERIA hosts Social Media Week

SOCIAL MEDIA WEEKLAGOS, (CAJ News) – TECHNOLOGY experts and entrepreneurs will gather in Lagos next week for Social Media Week.

The country’s commercial capital is one of four cities, alongside Hamburg, Jarkata and New York, to host the event that starts on Monday, ending on Friday.

Each of the four cities will bring together leaders from around the globe for a week of important conversations on the future of technology and human connectivity in our digital-first world.

With over 70 000 physical attendees joining every year, 5 000 speakers and more than 1 million people connecting through social and mobile, organisers are thrilled for Social Media Week 2016. In Lagos, insights into the emerging trends and technology in the African marketplace would be discussed.

Ebele Okobi, Head of Public Policy, Africa at Facebook, will discuss how Facebook can be utilized as a platform for increased citizen engagement that promotes open dialogues and positive government change.

Accenture, the global professional services company, will present, “How Nigerian Businesses Are Embracing Digital Transformation” that will focus on case studies of some of the biggest banks in Nigeria as they embark on transforming their businesses through the use of digital marketing.

The launch of a new initiative for women in tech in Africa SMW Lagos will also celebrate the launch of Women in Tech Africa Nigeria Chapter.

Women in Tech Africa has over 500 women in over 30 countries in the continent.
