NCC board must address poor telcom services

ABUJA, (CAJ News) – THE newly-inaugurated Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) board has been tasked to address poor quality of service scuttling the industry.
Minister of Communications, Adebayo Shittu, urged the committee to check
incidences of dropped calls, among other impediments.
Giving the charge in his office during the inauguration of the new NCC board members, he said complains about the quality of service being rendered by mobile network providers were “disturbing” and in this regard, he had to “read the riot act” when he had a meeting with them last year.
Members of the governing board are Olabiyi Durojaiye as Chairman, Prof. Umar Danbatta as Executive Vice Chairman, and Ubale Maska, as Executive Commissioner of Technical Service.
Sunday Akin Dare (Executive Commissioner Stakeholder Management), Clement Omeiza Baiye (Board Member) and Ifeanyi Ararume are other members.
Durojaiye assured the minister the members will ensure a level playing field and ensure a much better service quality.
