Nigeria company eyes top Africa entrepreneurship award

africa-finance-and-investment-forum-afif-entrepreneurship-award-2017LAGOS, (CAJ News) – FIRST Atlantic Semiconductors and Microelectronics, the Nigerian firm, is among the contenders for the Africa Finance and Investment Forum (AFIF) Entrepreneurship Award 2017.
The Owerri, Imo State-based company has developed the “Zenvus”, an intelligent solution to collect soil data using a system of electronic sensors.
Its mission is improve farming productivity.
The company is among six finalists nominated for the award supported by the Rabobank Foundation.
The nomination out of 51 projects from around the continent follows a few rounds of selection.
Other finalists are from Ethiopia, Kenya (2) and Tanzania (2).
These are Aybar Engineering, EuroFresh Exotics and R n G Company Limited as well as Kimolo Super Rice and Eco Act respectively.
They have been nominated for their social, economic and ecological impact and their potential for growth and job creation nationally and regionally.
The winner will be announced during the AFIF 2017 in Nairobi, Kenya, running from 13-16 February.
