Kenya leads the way in technology adoption

NAIROBI – KENYA has emerged the leading country in the continent in terms of technology adoption.

Research by Consumer Insight, conducted recently, established Kenya was ahead of South Africa, Nigeria and Ghana respectively.

Kenya emerged with highest points, especially in the areas of mobile money transfer, mobile phone, computer, social network use and broadcast media coverage.

The survey started by asking respondents about the various devices they use for communication, business and social in which Kenya scored 98 percent point while South Africa came second with 97 percent points, Nigeria 94 percent points with Ghana settling fourth on 87 percent points.

Kenya emerged with the highest scorecard in money transfer through mobile, a development that gave Kenya 87 percent with South Africa standing at 41 percent, Ghana 41 percent while Nigeria are fourth on 27 percent.
