CAJ, Al Jazeera ink major news distribution partnership

JOHANNESBURG – CENTRE for African Journalists (CAJ) News Africa, the Pan-African premier news service agency, has announced a major distribution partnership with Al Jazeera, one of the industry’s most esteemed news providers through African Media Agency (AMA)

CAJ News Africa, with presence in 18 African countries, signed the historic agreement with African Media Agency (AMA), the latter signing on behalf of Al Jazeera.

The partnership authorizes CAJ News Africa to redistribute the United Arab Emirates-headquartered Al Jazeera news copy as it breaks across Africa.

AMA, which specializes in helping companies, NGOs, UN agencies and other
multinationals grow their share of voice on a pan-African scale holds the exclusive relationship with Al Jazeera.

Commenting on the deal, CAJ News Africa Chief Executive Officer,
Savious-Parker Kwinika, said his company would continue investing in
Africa and providing clients with quality services.

He hailed the growth of the agency from humble beginnings.

“CAJ News Africa’s reputation and success story as Pan Africa’s premier news service provider keeps growing in leaps and bounds. Partnering Al Jazeera through AMA will ensure the Qatr-based television station’s visibility in Africa will attract many millions of followers while on the other hand CAJ News’ projected growth has trebled, exceeding the initial growth estimates for 2015.

“I’m so sure international and indigenous African companies wishing to do business in the continent would find CAJ News being their gateway to Africa,” Kwinika said.

Reacting to the news distribution partnership development, AMA Chief Executive Officer, Eloïne Barry, said she was delighted to be partnering CAJ News.

“AMA, becoming the exclusive distributor of Al Jazeera’s online news is a testimony of our ability to act as a thought-leader in everything media on the African continent.

“We are delighted to be partnering with CAJ News on this project and to be able to acknowledge the quality of their news outlet through this new venture”, Barry said.

CAJ News Africa currently leads the news market in the continent’s key
destinations comprising Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, Ghana, Rwanda,
Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, part of 18 countries it has a presence.

AMA and Al Jazeera are based in the GCC while CAJ News Africa is
headquartered in Johannesburg, South Africa.
