18 months or hefty fine for Kano visa scammer
LAGOS – A MAN who procured some fraudulent Saudi Arabia visas for a colleague has been sentenced to 18 months imprisonment.
Anas Usman Adam has been convicted on a two-count charge of conspiracy and criminal breach of trust when he appeared at the Kano State High Court
sitting in Kano.
One Hajia Amina Abdulhamid Yakubu contacted Adam to help her secure three Saudi Arabia visas for the purpose of attending the Hajj festivities.
According to the complainant, the visas allegedly procured by the convict,
were all rejected upon presentation at the airport when it was discovered
that the documents were not genuine.
Justice Bayero found Adam guilty and sentenced him to six months and one
year imprisonment respectively on counts one and two respectively.
He however offered him the option of a N250 000 fine.
