Astoria Investments debuts on JSE
JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – ASTORIA Investments Limited has listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange’s services sector.
The debut on the AltX board is by way of secondary listing.
Astoria Investments Limited is the seventh company to list on the AltX board in 2015 and the 62nd company to join this segment of the exchange.
The AltX board has an overall market capitalisation of R28,66 billion.
The listing on AltX will support Astoria Investments Limited’s objectives to increase the liquidity of listed shares by broadening its investor base to shareholders looking to generate value in equity markets outside of South Africa.
Astoria Investments Limited is an investment company that is focused on achieving strong USD capital appreciation over the medium to long term by investing in a range of global equities, high quality listed companies in mostly development markets.
Its key differentiator rests with its low fee structure and offshore portfolio, providing investors with exposure to an actively managed offshore portfolio through a single listed share listed on the JSE.
JSE Head of Capital Markets, Donna Oosthuyse, congratulated Astoria Investments Limited.
“Their listing is a positive development, not only for the company, but also for investors who will be afforded an opportunity to capitalise on Astoria’s growth, as well as increase their exposure
to offshore equities through one share,” said Oosthuyse.
The company’s listing follows a successful private placement after raising a total of R1.8 billion. This followed the offer to subscribe to shares for up to 150 000 000 Astoria Investments Limited shares at the issue price of US$1 per share.
The AltX board provides smaller companies with access to capital while giving investors exposure to fast-growing companies in a regulated environment.
