Technology explored to boost East Africa development

typing 1NAIROBI, (CAJ News) – MORE than 250 attendees will next month converge in Ethiopia to explore the impact of technological innovation and best practices on improving aid delivery and development strategy in East Africa.

They will meet in Addis Ababa under the auspices of the Aid and International Development Forum (AIDF) on February 2-3.

The event will bring together representatives, United Nations agencies, non-governmental organisations, development banks and private sector companies.

Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, Chairperson of the African Union Commission, will deliver the Opening Keynote Address.

Stakeholders will explore issues such as mobile innovations for humanitarian and development work and update on UN Procurement principles and process.

Humanitarian logistics and supply chain challenges and an update on child and maternal health initiatives would be discussed.

Sonja Ruetzel, Event Director,AIDF, expressed belief cross-sector collaboration and partnerships across regions were key to more effective aid delivery and development strategy in East Africa.

The official said AIDF Summit aimed to showcase expertise of different global stakeholders and provide an opportunity for knowledge exchange and networking among public, private and civil society stakeholders.

A wide range of partners support the summit.
