Kyalami gets hi-speed broadband access

15 — Kyalami1 EstatesJOHANNESBURG- MORE than 1 000 homes in the gated suburb of Kyalami estates will soon be connected to fibre broadband following a multimillion-rand investment by a fibre to the home (FTTH) supplier.

Metrofibre Networx will resume the project towards the end of the month.

It will be rolled out in a phased approach with the financial outlay and investment from Metrofibre into the project expected to be in region of R13 million.

Metrofibre is partnering with its reseller partner, RocketNet, as the preferred service provider for the actual FTTH Internet Services.

“We are delighted that the residents of Kyalami Estates and home owners association are elected to partner with us for their fibre needs,” says Jacques de Villiers, Business Development Manager of Metrofibre Networx.

“These customers will now be able to reap the full benefit of being able to browse the Internet faster, take advantage of video and television on demand services, chat via voice over internet protocol (VoIP), play online games, host conference calls and even be able to speak to family and friends abroad as if they are in the room next door.”

Metrofibre’s residential offerings include network connectivity that boasts speeds of up to 1 000 megabytes per second (Mbps), facilitating super-fast downloads, streaming TV, unparalleled gaming as well as access to cloud solutions.

Tailored packages are available for the individual, small and home office, body corporates and property developers.

The multiracial Kyalami Estates is one of the first security estates established in South Africa and to date, approximately 1 100 residents enjoy 24-hour controlled access in their homes where urban convenience is housed in a rural environment with extensive parklands and a natural wetland.

With a footprint that now extends to northern suburbs of Johannesburg such as Kyalami, Sunninghill, Barbeque Downs, Lonehill, Beaulieu, Heathcliff and Blue Hills estates, Glenferness, as well as parts of Paulshof, Sandton and Rivonia.
