JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – AMADEUS, the leading provider of technology solutions for the global travel industry, has won the 2016 Red Hat Innovator of the Year award.

This is in recognition of its innovative use of Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform as part of a new cloud services platform to help  companies meet the increasingly complex demands of travelers.

Amadeus has reported they process more than 30 000 end-user transactions  per second during peak operations.

Dietmar Fauser, vice president, Architecture, Quality and Governance, Amadeus, says they are thrilled to be named the 2016 Red Hat Innovator of the Year.

“The solution we have built with Amadeus Cloud Services, using Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, has helped us eliminate innovation barriers  and enabled us to increase our focus on providing value to our business and customers,” Fauser says.

Marco Bill-Peter, vice president, Customer Experience and Engagement, Red  Hatm, says Amadeus uses Red Hat technology not only to provide a modern  infrastructure to help drive business innovation, but also as a means to
help meet its increasing customer demand.

“It is an honor to name Amadeus, a company that so well exhibits creative thinking and problem-solving, as the 2016 Red Hat Innovator of the Year,” says Bill-Peter.
