Nokia engages NCC to re-open Nigeria office

LAGOS, (CAJ News) – NOKIA, the technology company whose operations in Nigeria have been halted, has pledged its commitment to the market.

An official said the firm had engaged authorities to ensure its licence was regularized.

The Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) closed Nokia’s office in Lekki, Lagos after it emerged the firm had been operating without a licence for four years.

“The temporary closing of our administrative office in Lagos is an important matter to us,” said an official.

“We continue to closely collaborate with NCC and are accelerating our efforts to quickly regularize our licence,” the publicist added.

The official said Nokia was fully committed to delivering world-class connectivity solutions to the Nigerian market and positively contributing  to the country socio-economic development.

NCC has hinted at fining the company before its licence could be renewed.
