MTN Rwanda supports rural schools with ICT kits

MTN logoKIGALI , (CAJ News) – THE MTN Rwanda Foundation has handed over 96 computers with three months free internet access to four secondary schools.

The four schools connected are Kigarama Technical Secondary School in Ngoma (Eastern Province), Sumba Secondary School in Nyamagabe (Southern Province), College Officiel De Mburabuturo in Nyamasheke (Western Province) and Groupe Scolaire Rambura in Nyabihu (Western Province).

The donation has been made under the aegis of the “ICT Connect Schools” Project.

The project is part of the MTN Rwanda Foundation strategy that focuses on investment in education as well as the Company’s mandate to connect and empower communities.

Mary Asiimwe, MTN’s Human Resources & Corporate Affairs General Manager says, MTN Foundation’s ICT support is a sign of its commitment to pursue its vision of promoting ICT Education in Rwanda and leading the delivery of a bold, new digital world to our customers.

“MTN realises and understands the need for access to quality education for all and fostering ICT development in schools,” says Asiimwe.

Since the ICT Connect Schools project begun in 2012, MTN Foundation has already built 24 fully equipped computer labs out of 30 with the aim to cover all the districts in Rwanda.
