AfricaCom lives up to its top billing

huawei-billingCAPE TOWN, (CAJ News) – CAPE Town, the South African coastal city is a hive of activity with the meeting of at least 10 000 delegates for AfricaCom, the continent’s biggest information and communications technology summit.

Held under the theme, “Economic Development and Social Empowerment through Digital Connectivity” has 350 speakers lined up to make presentations.

These are drawn from the entire ICT ecosystem.

Among the major backers of the event at the resort town’s International Conference Centre (CITCC) include Huawei, who are the diamond sponsors.

The company has been among the most active on the launches front.

It has launched its new hybrid video solution ‘Huawei Envision’, which is designed to assist carriers in developing video as a fundamental service
and helps them achieve success.

Another partnership on smart initiatives was signed with mobile operator MTN.

These come on the heels of launches of Comedy+ with MTN in Nigeria and the Baze-live live show service with partners in Kenya.

Huawei is planning to expand these services to the whole of Africa in the very near future.

The technology company has multiple nominations at the AfricaCom Awards that were scheduled for Wednesday evening.

The accolades pay tribute to the industry initiatives that improve connectivity and digital transformation across the continent.
