JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – A technology expert has projected a revolution of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the forthcoming years, predicting it will surpass the capabilities of the human brain during the surge.

Franck Cohen, President of Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) at Systems, Applications & Products (SAP), the Germany headquartered multinational software corporation, was speaking in Johannesburg.
“AI is going to surpass the human brain. In five years, machines will have the capability to invent new machines,” Cohen projected.
He said with AI adoption in business-to-business (B2B) progressing at rapid speed, SAP would launch 25 AI apps in 2017 and probably 250 in 2018.
In line with that, Cohen forecast the company’s AI developer team will increase tenfold from the current 500.
He said like electricity did in the 19th century, AI would radically change the way the world conducts business.
“It will radically change industry after industry in ways we have never imagined before.”
AI is intelligence exhibited by machines.
SAP has invested significantly in AI research particularly machine learning.
The company sees significant opportunities to use machine learning, Big Data analytics and other AI techniques to help enterprise customers make better, faster and more informed decisions.
“AI is going to be the next revolution and it will be part of everything we do in future,” said the executive.
