JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – DATACENTRIX, the Johannesburg Stock Exchange technology firm, has contributed more than R19 000 for the refurbishment of the Sizanani Children’s Home in Bronkhorstspruit outside Pretoria.
The donation follows fund raising efforts of one of its banking clients.
“Sizanani gives these special children a wonderful home, providing them with a huge amount of love and attention they so deserve. This much is apparent in the huge smiles of each child in residence,” says Werner Vorster, Commercial Account Manager at Datacentrix.
“Upon learning of our client’s internal charity drive for Sizanani, we decided that this was an organisation that Datacentrix would also like to get behind and assist.”
Founded in 1993, Sizanani Children’s Home was established primarily as a residential facility for children and young adults with moderate to profound intellectual and physical disabilities.
The home currently cares for 59 children and adults, with ages ranging from four to 34 years.
Residents are accommodated within three independent dormitories, according to their gender and level of independence. Many require 24-hour care due to their disabilities.
In addition, the home provides day-care services to 45 disabled children and their families from neighbouring townships.
