Facebook aids Zimbabwean businesses build digital skills

HARARE, -FACEBOOK is helping Zimbabwean entrepreneurs and small businesses build their digital skills through a series of training events and workshops.The social networking service and partner Digify Africa are holding their Boost Your Business training programme in Harare, with the aim to help small business owners understand how to use digital platforms to grow their businesses.The programme is also running currently in Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa.
Facebook will organise regular engineer and product gatherings that seek to educate and provide a forum for discussion and knowledge sharing around topics that are top-of-mind for developers in a particular market,including ways to build with the Facebook platform and defining success metrics.Additionally, these gatherings will feature guest speakers who will share their own best practices and insights.“The developer community has played a large role in Facebook’s success to-date, and we continue to focus on helping startups, entrepreneurs, and developers to succeed,” said Proud Dzambukira, Facebook Strategic Product Partner, Platform Partnerships.He announced the Zimbabwe launch of Developer Circles from Facebook, a programme for developers to connect, learn and collaborate with other local developers.
