Vodacom Business in broad Mideast expansion

JOHANNESBURG – VODACOM Business Africa expressed a commitment to support the internationalisation of multinational businesses into Africa and the Middle East in spite of the challenges posed by the coronavirus (COVID-19).

The South African-based company announced it had extended its footprint by providing connectivity to partners and clients in 12 countries in the Middle East.

Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have been added to its network.

Through this network expansion, Vodacom Business Africa has effectively increased its overall internet protocol virtual private network (IPVPN) coverage footprint to 63 countries globally.

“We are committed to bringing the very best network coverage to our important multinational clients, and this expansion allows us to do just that,” said Guy Clarke, Managing Director Vodacom Business International.

He said the company was eliminating the barriers of connectivity that were a source of concern to clients.

The expansion, Clarke stated, would allow businesses to future-proof “as we face the new business normal.”

“We continue to leverage our strategic partner networks across the globe in a cost-effective, seamless and secure manner to provide extensive network coverage, more so now that businesses are facing unprecedented disruptions and need a reliable partner to scale with them.”
